"Tom Owad is accessible, smart and possesses a winning bedside manner when it comes to diagnosing, repairing and improving the health of Macintosh computer systems. Not only do I recommend his services, but he traversed the brutal traffic conditions that shut down all major arteries in Pennsylvania in February 2007 to keep me and my business up and operating. I have owned and operated Macintosh computer systems for personal, business and classroom purposes for two decades, and I can say with confidence that if your Mac is sick, Schnitz Technology is the cure!" - Eric Epstein, Cooridnator, EFMR Monitoring Group, Inc.

"The first computer guru I've ever had that's not arrogant." - Bruce Mervine, Yorktowne Press

"Following his technical methodology, Tom seems to be somewhat of a scripting MacGyver; quite impressive." - GIS for Archaeology and CRM

"In early January talented hacker Tom Owad showed what could be done..." - Mark Ward, Technology Correspondent, BBC News.

To folks in the Mac world:

I stumbled upon the Schnitz Technology website in the wee hours of the morning recently, trying to recover a saved document for my daughter that, for the most part, no longer existed. Loooong story.

The point of my comments is to recommend Tom Owad and Schnitz Tech. The wee hours of this particular morning are a haze to me, so I can't remember if I emailed or called first. At any rate, Tom called me back (during normal, people hours), arranged a time to do a remote connection to my daughter's laptop, and we were off and running. Tom's customer service skills are first rate, and I'm sure I've only glimpsed his knowledge base. He stated what the service would cost and honored the fee.

I also have to say the remote connection experience was super cool. There are not many things in life, in my experience lately, that exceed expectation. Seeing a Broadway show in NYC last Spring Break, and consulting with Tom Owad are two things that qualify. If you need help, don't hesitate to contact Tom.

I've just glanced at the Applefritter website. Can't wait to explore more.

Submitted by the once, stressed mom who told her daughter (when the science lab report she had spent at least 4 hours on wasn't printing correctly) to save the document (which she did), close the application and restart the computer. (Yeah, yeah, copy and paste it in a new document, duh.) The document apparently went to the Big Computer in the Sky, never to be heard from again, until Tom Owad found some of it in Memory Leakage Land.

Tom,

Just a quick note to thank you for the work you did on my PowerBook.

I like to think that I'm pretty good with this Mac stuff. As you know, I've 15 workstations (with some high-end printers and scanners and burners and such) going here and I've encountered, and managed to solve, quite a few problems with the tricks and utilities that I've picked-up over the past 15 years or so. But this crash just stumped me; nothing that I tried did the least bit of good. Until I gave you a call.

Not only were you able to salvage my data, but the reformatted drive has been working perfectly since you brought it back. My sincere compliments, sir. I am impressed.

It is good to know that such expertise exists in York. I've already recommended you to several of my regular customers and will continue to do so.

Thanks again, Tom.

Sincerely,

James Lewin
